Eu não tenho dúvidas: Centro Cultural São Paulo, dos arquitetos Eurico Prado Lopes e Luiz Telles – não consigo pensar em outro.
O projeto tem características únicas e uma concepção sempre atual.
Características únicas por ser um edifício localizado em um terreno “ilha” entre grandes avenidas e de uma topografia que fez com que a circulação se tornasse um grande desafio. Aprendi com o professor de desenho Charles Watson, há uns dez anos, que um bom profissional é aquele que transforma o problema em solução. Quanto maior o desafio e mais você se envolve com ele, melhor é o resultado de sua obra. Seguindo esse raciocínio, a circulação do Centro Cultural é perfeita. A diferença de níveis gerou as belas rampas que, juntas, formam um edifício escultórico e funcional. Outra característica é o seu endereço: uma estação de metrô; não existe endereço mais democrático que esse. Além disso, a relação visual entre os diferentes andares está sempre presente. Em um passeio linear, se pode conhecer o edifício inteiro, incluindo as atividades de outros patamares, o que gera “vida” à construção. E o melhor, em seus 30 anos, nunca houve a necessidade de alterar os seus principais conceitos por dificuldades práticas ou funcionais.
Está aí, para mim, o melhor projeto da cidade.

The project has unique characteristics and an ever present conception.
Unique characteristics to be a building located on an ” island ” between major avenues and a topography that made the movement became a big challenge . I’ve learned from drawing teacher Charles Watson, ten years ago, that a good professional is the one that transforms the problem into a solution . The bigger challenge and the more you get involved into with, better will be the result of the work. Following this reasoning , the movement of the Centro Cultural is perfect . The difference in levels generated the beautiful ramps which together form a sculptural and functional building . Another feature is the address: a subway station, there is no more democratic than this address. Furthermore, the visual relationship between the different levels is always present. In a linear walk, you can meet the entire building , including the activities of other levels , which gives ” life ” to the building . And the best , in their 30s , there was never a need to change their major concepts caused for practical or functional difficulties.
There is, for me, the best acrchitectual design city.
